In 2020, Kelly, a dear client, commissioned us to illustrate his upcoming book, “An and his Journey.” After discussions, we decided on a picture-book illustration style that would appeal to both children and adults. With that brief in mind, we settled on a semi-realistic style, incorporating crayon and colored pencil-like brush strokes to achieve a balance between realism and abstraction, akin to a dream. Here is an illustration exemplifying this style, showcasing the scene where An meets his ancestors in a dream.
