In 2022, which marked the Year of the Tiger in Vietnam, there was a popular belief that it would be a favorable year for businesses due to the tiger’s association with power and prosperity in the zodiac. People celebrated this year by incorporating tiger imagery into their homes through stickers, paintings, and statues.
Unfortunately, this auspicious year didn’t bode well for the wild tiger population in Vietnam. Deforestation and poaching emerged as the primary culprits driving these magnificent creatures to the brink of extinction in the country.
